Double Chin

About Double Chin :

A double chin is defined as a roll of fatty skin that is situated beneath your chin that makes it appear as if you have two chins, hence the name, double chin. This can be caused as a part of the natural ageing process, as well as a response to weight fluctuation


Causes :

  • Age : With Ageing, skin looses its elasticity leading to appearance of extra or saggy skin.

  • Diet and Weight : Weight gain is not always the cause of a double chin but it can contribute to it. A diet high in calories, processed foods, and unhealthful fats may influence the result.

  • Genetics

  • Posture : Poor posture can weaken the muscles of the neck and chin which may contribute to a double chin over time, as the surrounding skin loses its elasticity.

  • Sudden appearance of double chin may be indicator of health related issues such as 

  1. Hyperthyroidism

  2. Sinus Infection

  3. Kidney infection

  4. Neck swelling may give appearance of double chin.

You can reduce appearance of double chin by following these tips :
